Approved by the State Council as a National Significant Science and Technology Project; in May 2008, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) was set up in Shanghai, signifying the commercial aircraft project officially started. COMAC might finally go head leading the ARJ-21 and jumbo aircraft design program with the backbone of the integration of AVIC I, II to reinforce China's aerospace industry. Here are great investment opportunities, generated from the domestic aircrafts & equipment outsourcing, and assets brought into opportunities for development and upgrading of aviation industry. However, the challenges of potentially operating in increasingly harsh competition environment means there are many issues to overcome. The fledgling Chinese manufacturers have to grow and learn with their international peers; the regulators have to ensure the industry structure evolve to sustain its growth; Investors have to know how China's aircrafts manufacturers and airlines intend to cope with the international competitions.
